A Basic Face

Hello Beauties!!! Thank you to those who replied to my last posting for skin care. It was great to hear what you use for concealer and skin care. I'm gonna try Philosophy cuz I've heard from a lot of people that it works well for skin care. I wanted to ask you, what is your basic face? You know, those days when you just need to get ready quickly but need to look decent for the day. In the summer I can get away with no foundation (cuz the sun has given me a slight tan), a little faux tan to bring out cheek bones, little blush and some mascara and that's it. Now for winter, it takes a little more effort cuz I'm really washed out. lol!! So here is my basic winter look: -Bare Minerals Original Mineral Foundation (all over) -Bare Minerals Faux Tan (all over and a little darker on the cheek bone) -A blush, right now I'm into Bare Minerals "Golden Gate" blush for winter -Bare Minerals Mineral Veil (all over face to blend it all) -Eye Brows (I must have a side note here, a lot of people don't do eyebrows or if they do they over do it. If you don't, you should. I cant tell how much it truly helps your face. It gives your face extra definition that you didn't know you needed. I never thought about eyebrows til one day I decided to try it, omg, I will never go back, trust me. If you over do it, STOP IT!) -Bare Minerals "Glow" Eyeshadow (all over lid) -Bare Minerals "Sable" Eyeliner (upper and lower lid) -Buxom Mascara BAM!! There is my basic face for everyday. I don't look over done and I don't look like I just woke up. LOL! Please share with me what you use for your basic face. Love to hear about all the different types of make-ups. Have a lovely week Beauties!! -Lady O

HOLY SINUS PRESSURE BATMAN!

Hello Beauties! Yes, you read the title right, sinus pressure is the topic for today. So the reason I'm sharing this info is due to the fact that I have a lovely pimple right between my eyes. Yep, square in the middle of my bridge. I have never had a pimple there. Let me just say how painful it is. Because it is a pressure point it is causing pressure in my eyes which is making me squint alot, JOY. LOL! So last night I thought I took care of this thing, popped it, done. Woke up today and it was angry. Swollen and irritated. Irritated enough to give me such pressure and a headache. As I type this, it sounds sad. LOL! Yes, Hello, I'm Lady O and I have a painful pimple at the age of 36. Then I had to try to cover up this puppy. I used Rare Minerals Blemish Therapy (I still use the one I have from 5 or more years ago, sucker lasts forever) and then I just put my BE Original Mineral Foundation over it. It works okay but could use a concealer. Does anyone have a suggestion for a great concealer? I have used a few but haven't found one I love. Thoughts? I could use your suggestions. So now I pose another question to you, what do you do for pimples/acne at the age of 36. I know as we get older our hormones change so that is part of the reason for the breakouts but sometimes I feel like a teenager again. LOL! I still use Proactiv but I'm considering making a change because I'm getting break outs regardless. See, so in the end this topic ended up being about skin, therefore it works for my beauty blog. Alright Beauties, that is all for this week. Please, please, please give me suggestion. Could use the help. -Lady O

LIP GLOSS CRAZY!!!!

Hi there Beauties!! So I wanted to do a little piece on lip gloss. Lip gloss, oh lip gloss, how I do love thee. No seriously, lip gloss is the best. If you don't have time or just don't want to do a whole face then just put on your lip gloss. It will brighten your face up with out having to do the whole schbang. Now my favorite is Buxom. I love me some Buxom. Any color will do. Now when I started loving Buxom they only had the kind with a tingle. Now you have the option to have the tingle, they have both. I personally am addicted to the tingle. Makes me feel like "YES, I'm wearing lip gloss, look how lovely my lips look." (Yes, I'm a dork, LOL) Also, they have human people names so its extremely easy to remember which is your fave. Some of my faves are, Emma, Lauren, Sandy (LOVE for summer), and right now I'm so loving Sophia. For Christmas I received an awesome gift, a roulette wheel of Buxoms. I saw them at Sephora and truly wanted it, and YAY, I got it for Christmas, Santa must have known. The day they stop the Buxom production will be a sad day in my little world. Just sayin... I have of course tried other lip glosses, such as: Bobbi Brown--love that brand Tarte--super light weight and easy Mally--love the shine Philosophy--so moisturizing And those are just some. Anywho, I highly recommend that if you don't want to do a whole face or if you just don't have time to do a whole face but want to look like you somewhat tried (that can be me most days) just reach for your lip gloss. If you have a favorite lip gloss that you want to recommend please do so. I would love to know what you all wear. Have a "BEAUTIFUL" day my lovelies. ~Lady O

IM BACK....ITS 2015

HELLO MY BEAUTIES!!! I'm back. I went thru quite a bit of changes in the last few years which took me away from all things beauty for some reason. I'm finally settling in to a new job where I actually have extra time in my life. Family time, friend time, personal time and of course BEAUTY TIME. December 2014 I discovered myself again. I started putting eyeshadow on again and really experimenting with colors again. I truly enjoy this. :-) So over the last couple of years I have tried other shadows and other makeup brands. As you know I was a hardcore Bare Escentuals fan. I still love them but they did change ingredients in the foundation and other products. But I was informed that they started to revert back to what they originally had in them. Since BE foundation changed I had to try others because my skin didn't agree with the new ingredients. I tried Tarte, Mally, Smashbox, Josie Maran and IT Cosmetics. Most of these products are all natural which I love. My skin ended up really liking IT Cosmetics. It really brightens the face and makes it look youthful. I would recommend it especially if you are really looking for full coverage. IT also has loose powder, pressed and liquid foundations (LOVE the options). Tarte: I used liquid. It was a really light liquid foundation which I enjoyed but I am just not a liquid girl in the end. Mally: It didn't agree with me which I was so bummed about cuz I love her and her products. I still would recommend her products. Her lip gloss is awesome and I really like her shadows. Josie Maran: I couldn't find the best match for my skin tone but I did like the application of the foundation. It didn't make me break out either. Light weight. Smashbox: OMG, I still love them. I loved them before BE came into my life. Great foundations (choices), shadows are fun colors, and the makeup really stays on. Their primers are fabulous too. Wonderful for making your makeup stay in place. Okay, so now I've come full circle with foundation. I'm officially using Bare Minerals now (I miss the Bare Escentuals name). Its just so easy to apply and gives good coverage for everyday. I haven't stopped using their eyeshadows. They are my absolute favorite. The loose mineral shadows are the best. I have tried their pressed mineral shadows and I'm not gaga over them. They don't stay as well and the colors aren't as fun. Plus, I feel you can get pressed shadows anywhere and Bare Minerals loose mineral shadows are special. I have creasy lids so I HAVE to have eyelid primer. Bare Escentuals use to have the best one around. It was in a pen shape dispenser and NO shadows moved what so ever when you had the primer on. They got rid of that one. :( Of course that put me on the hunt for another good one. Wow, that was hard. Smashbox Photo Finish Eyelid primer and Urban Decay are the best I found if you have creasy lids. So to start this blog off right I'm uploading a sassy pic of myself just because. I will post an eyeshadow pic soon. More to come. I would like to make this a weekly blog. So since I'm the one writing it that is what it will be. Hehehehe Again,if you have tips or want to suggest beauty products for me to try, please do so. You hope you all have a "Beautiful" day. ~Lady O

Adult Acne...AAAHHHHHHHHHHHH

Raise your hand if you have adult acne. YEP, that's me!!!! Lucky me. LOL!!!
I grew up with light to moderate acne and boils from hell. I thought once I was past my teens and early twenties I would get past that and have nice skin. My skin has been really good for quite a few years but with in the last year I've noticed some different things happening to my skin.
Just about a year ago is when I started working out heavily. Sweating alot more. I noticed my forehead had a bunch of little bumps on it. At the time I thought I was having a reaction to something so I didn't think anything of it. I stuck with washing my face with Pro Activ and using the face mask. Eventually it would clear up. Then a few months ago I was watching some show and they were talking about adult on set acne. Apparently little bumps on the forehead or on your face in general is just one form of adult acne. I had absolutely no clue. Did you?
So within the last two and half months I've been walking and running alot more and sweating quite a bit. Guess what has returned. Very frustrating. I am still using the Pro Activ. When I use the mask on it it definitely calms it down. So I'm doing that but other than that I'm not sure what else to do. Any suggestions?
I'm using Bare Minerals Original Bisque to conceal. It helps if there is some redness but you really can't hide bumps. Bumps are bumps and there is no hiding that. :(
Anyone else having these problems? What are you doing to help clear it up?

Love & Happiness

I know, another blog post. LOL!!! I said I would post any new kits I receive. Well, like I said I just got 4 kits. So here is another one: Love and Happiness, such a fab kit. Love the Big and Bright Eyeliner in Oz (Oz by the way is an emerald green just like the color in the Wizard of Oz). Oz makes your eyes pop. The Prime Time Brightening Sunlight Eyelid Primer is a great color and I'm loving it for this summer, very natural, same with Queen Phyllis Matte Eyecolor. The Love Radiance All-Over Face Color is just beautiful. Really highlights the cheek bones and brow bones but looks very natural. Best Friend Lip Balm is fab. Moisturizes your lips wonderfully and the color is great too. I thought it was too dark for my outfit today so I softened it up by putting Rita Buxom on top of it. This is truly a universal kit. If you're a little scared cuz' of the Big and Bright Eyeliner in Oz, don't be. At least give it a try. Think outside the box. I was amazed at how it made my eyes pop.

Below is the link to my pics. of what the kits look like.
